What changes are happening with 8 Dragons?
As part of the exciting redevelopment works at Lidcombe, DOOLEYS 8 Dragons restaurant will be closing in early September 2024. The closure will allow the builders to commence works to deliver a new building façade and restaurant on John St.
Why are the changes happening?
These works will significantly improve and activate the streetscape to create a much more inviting club exterior and make way for an exciting new Italian Pizzeria restaurant. The restaurant will deliver a range of authentic Italian dishes including pizza, pasta, and steaks, reinforcing our commitment to providing a diverse range of food and beverage options to our members. Whilst this transition gets underway, disruption to the current member amenities will be kept to an absolute minimum.
When will 8 Dragons close?
The last day of trade for 8 Dragons dining will be Sunday 1 September 2024.
Will Asian cuisine return to DOOLEYS?
Yes, although bigger and better! A brand-new authentic Asian Yum Cha restaurant will return to DOOLEYS on a much larger scale, offering a wider range of menu options in a new location within the Lidcombe club.
Will DOOLEYS still offer an Asian menu in the meantime?
Yes! We know how much our members enjoy the 8 Dragons offering. To ensure members continue to experience this popular style of cuisine at our venue, we are launching an exciting new Asian section in Lloyds Bistro from September 2024. Menu items will include popular dishes including Congee, Noodles & Fried Rice. Please keep an eye out for daily Asian chef specials as well.
What will happen to the late-night menu?
The late-night menu will continue to be available for our members as normal and include a brand-new menu led by our talented in-house chefs. Member favourites will remain, including Shanghai Noodles, Dumplings, Dim Sims & Congee.
What is happening with the 8 Dragons staff?
The current 8 Dragons staff will be redeployed to other venues within the 8 Dragons Managements network.
What other dining options are there?
Members will continue to have access to all other member dining options as normal including John St Café, Lloyds Bistro, Bailey’s Sports Bar and Vincent’s Noodle House.
